This Privacy Policy explains how RWichmann GmbH ("Splittr", "we", "us" or "our") processes personal data when you visit the website splittr.io, join our waiting list, or use the Splittr mobile app (together, the "Service"). We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

When you visit splittr.io, our hosting provider automatically collects server log data that your browser transmits, such as your IP address, browser type and version, the pages accessed, and the date and time of the request. This data is used to deliver the website reliably and securely and to prevent misuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure and functional website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you enter your email address to join our beta waiting list, we store that email address in order to notify you when there is something to test and when the new apps launch. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example via the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
When you use the app, we process the data you enter and that is required to provide the service, such as your account identifier, group and expense entries, group members you add, and settlement information. Legal basis: performance of a contract / provision of the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We also process technical and diagnostic data to keep the service secure, stable and to fix errors (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you buy a premium subscription or a one-time purchase, the payment is processed by the respective app store (Apple or Google). We do not receive or store your payment card details; we only receive confirmation of the purchase in order to unlock the corresponding features.
If you allow notifications, we send push messages related to your groups and activity. You can disable notifications at any time in your device or app settings.
We use carefully selected service providers who process personal data on our behalf under data processing agreements. These include, in particular:
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the USA. In such cases we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure an adequate level of protection.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law. Waiting list data is deleted when you unsubscribe or at the latest once it is no longer needed for notifying you about the launch. Account and group data is retained while your account is active; you can request deletion at any time.
You can ask us at any time to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and, where processing is based on your consent, to withdraw that consent with effect for the future. To do so, contact us at support@splittr.io; we may ask you to verify your identity first.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. Please note, however, that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure.
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, and we will update the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes we will provide an additional notice where appropriate.
